The adventures continue...Heidelberg

(Thank you Geoffrey for the caption, as well as many of these photos!)
This is the statue who graced the center square where we relaxed for some coffee after hiking to the castle.

Heidelberg is a beautiful little town about an hour (on the autobahn - I LOVE no speed limits!) away from Baden Baden.  Upon arrival in the late evening, we found a great parking spot at the foot of the bridge...these are the images that greeted us:

Once we got across, we decided to hike to the castle and save our exploration of town for later in the evening.

After a glorious afternoon of visiting castles, sitting in cafes, and strolling across bridges, Cora and I needed some sustenance.  We hit the crepe stand - cinnamon, sugar, and applesauce - yum!

As night fell, we watched the sunset from across the bridge so we could admire the castle and the city all lit up.

Later that evening, after an exhibit opening and a bridge dedication, we did strolled the shopping street, enjoying one of the few evenings German stores remained open until midnight.  Once we'd had our fill of retail and Geoffrey and I indulged our shared love for Mexican food with the closest we could find, Cuban.  This was our dinner at Havana, where we met up with Cora's cousin, Constantine and his girlfriend, Flora.:
